Know someone who might benefit from this post?

After a great experience giving birth to her first son at St. Luke’s Hospital six years ago, Kate decided to have Landon there too. Before he was born, she was monitored three to four times a week and at 35 weeks, Landon arrived through an emergency c-section where he was immediately brought to the Special Care Nursery for treatment.

At birth, Landon weighed only three pounds and seven ounces, and needed to spend a total of twenty days in the Special Care Nursery.

“We are so grateful for the exceptional physical and emotional care everyone at St. Luke’s provided our family throughout this time. With the amazing doctors, nurses, and staff at the hospital, along with our families and friends, we felt so supported while we waited to bring Landon home.”

Today, Landon is a healthy toddler who will be starting preschool this fall. As a token of appreciation for the staff, Landon’s friends and family began a tradition donating to the Special Care Nursery each year on his birthday.

This year, in honor of his third birthday, they generously donated onesies and parent toiletry kits. In past years, they have donated gift cards for the providers, nurses and staff, and children’s books for current patients.

Thank you to the Moore Family and our Level II Special Care Nursery team for all they do to care for our littlest patients and their families.
